Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS - CRANIAL AND PARASPINAL NERVEs | Neurofibroma | 10B4 Neurofibroma, cutaneous, Meissner's (Case 10) H&E 1.jpg
An unusual feature of this cutaneous neurofibroma is the formation of pseudo-Meissner corpuscles, seen at higher magnifications. (H&E) ---- Not shown: There is diffuse staining for S-100 protein. The neurofilament stain shows interspersed nerve fibers. Also noted are focal vascular areas with thin and thick abnormal vessels. An immunoperoxidase stain for Glut-1 (to rule out perineurioma) is negative.
