Case 6 History ---- The patient is an 18 year old woman with a history of neurofibromatosis (NF1), who has severe pain secondary to neurofibromas of the scalp. Operative procedure: Excision of a large neurofibroma of the left occiput, and excision of a small neurofibroma of the right posterior parietal scalp. ---- 6A Not surprisingly, this patient has extensive tumor growth in addition to her scalp lesions including plexiform involvement of the caudal roots which are expanded and show STIR hyperintensity.
