Sections of the C4-C7 tumors show moderately cellular proliferations of spindled cells growing in a vaguely fascicular architecture. Several large entrapped ganglion cells are noted. Per the operative summary, the tumors at C4, C5 and C7 showed integration of the nerve roots in a diffuse pattern without a clear plane of resection.
