Case 10 History This is an 18-year-old man with three to four years of progressive weakness in the right hand with increasing numbness in the ulnar nerve distribution of both the dorsal and volar aspect of the ulnar side of his hand. Operative procedure: Carpal tunnel and Guyon tunnel release and dorsal cutaneous ulnar nerve biopsy. 10A1-3 The surgical specimen shows a peripheral nerve with increased cellularity. On cross-sections, concentric layers of pseudo-onion bulbs can be seen. (H&E)
