A typical appearance of the endoneurium consists of scattered pockets of myelinated axons as well as free floating collections of Schwann cell processes devoid of axons (arrow). Broad bands of processes, largely perineurial (arrowheads) are most unusual in the endoneurium. (electron micrograph)
