3A Perineurioma (Deep Peroneal nerve) (Case 3) copy
Case 3 History ---- The patient is a 21 year old female who had MRI findings consistent with a mass lesion, clinically thought most likely a perineurioma, along the right common peroneal nerve with worsening symptoms including a foot drop for the last 3 years. She was treated with mass and segmental nerve excision, and reconstructed with an allograft. ---- 3A The gross neurosurgical specimen has been incised to expose a nodule (arrow), which is enlarged compared to the fascicles shown at either end, and which the surgeon palpated during the surgery (she expressed the process as similar to “running the bowel” at autopsy)
