25B1-5 Sections of the "C6 nerve root tumor," show peripheral nerve with a moderately cellular neoplasm with multiple growth patterns. One pattern consists of compact arrangements of spindled to small epithelioid cells, (Antoni A type). A second pattern consists of loose microcystic tissue with delicate spindled cells, (Antoni B type). There are few hyalinized blood vessels. Verocay bodies are present. Mitotic figures are not easily identified. There is no evidence of invasion into adjacent structures.
