Case 4 History ---- The patient is a 55 year old man with an intradural tumor. Operative procedure: T11-T12 laminectomy for resection of intradural/extramedullary tumor. ---- 4A1,2-Sections show a well-encapsulated spindle cell neoplasm with prominent hyalinized blood vessels shown as a whole mount and at higher magnification. The tumor has loose myxoid areas, largely in the center. The periphery is composed of Schwann cells that in some places shows palisading around acellular, eosinophilic areas (Verocay bodies). Mitoses are rare.
