Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS - CRANIAL AND PARASPINAL NERVEs | Schwannoma - Cellular | 7A2 Schwannoma, cellular (Case 7) H&E 20X 1
7A2-5 Sections reveal a moderately to highly cellular spindle cell neoplasm arranged in sweeping fascicles. A capsule is evident surrounding most of the tumor. Rare foci with a loose microcystic pattern can be seen. The tumor cells contain relatively bland-appearing thin spindled nuclei, some with a wavy character. There is a moderate mitotic index and no evidence of necrosis.
