Case 8 History ---- The patient is a 45 year old man with a cervical mass. Clinical expectation: Neurofibroma. Operative procedure: Posterior cervical tumor resection. ---- 8A1-3 Sections of the cervical mass show a hypercellular spindle cell neoplasm composed of cells with elongated, wavy, hyperchromatic nuclei, and scant amounts of fibrillary eosinophilic cytoplasm arranged as compact fascicles as in an Antoni-A area. Rare mitotic figures are identified. (H&E)
