9A1 Schwannoma, cellular (Case 9) H&E 20X 2
Case 9 History ---- The patient is a 31 year old woman with a nerve root tumor at the level of T12. Operative procedure: Excision. ---- 9A1-3 Sections of the specimen showed a well encapsulated spindle cell neoplasm with an associated compressed nerve. The majority of the neoplasm is composed of cellular (Antoni A) regions, with minor hypocellular, myxomatous (Antoni B) regions also present. Mitotic figures are occasionally identified in some areas. The overall histomorphologic features are those of a cellular schwannoma.
