1A Schwannoma, plexiform, NF2 patient (Case 1, not sampled area) STIR - Copy
Case 1 History ---- The patient is a 31 year old woman with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) presenting with multiple paraspinal tumors at various spinal levels in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2020. The tumor to be presented as case 1 is a L4 radiculopathy resected in 2012. MRI shows a T2 hyperintense, peripherally enhancing sacral paraspinal tumor. PET scans show evidence of increased uptake in this region suspicious for malignant transformation. Operative procedure: L5-S1 posterior spinal fusion with resection of paraspinal nerve sheath tumor. ---- 1A This STIR (Short Tau Inversion Recovery) image shows multiple nodules, some of which are consistent with a plexiform growth pattern.
