9B1 LCH (Gaegel's Granuloma) (Case 9) H&E 2
9B1-3 Sections of the suprasellar mass showed multiple fragments of mildly gliotic brain parenchyma, minimally to heavily involved by an inflammatory parenchymal infiltrate. The infiltrate consists predominantly of bland appearing plasma cells (some of which contain Russell bodies), lymphocytes and occasional eosinophils. Accompanying this infiltrate are other scattered cells with inconspicuous cytoplasm, and lucent nuclei that rarely show grooves. No organisms and no intranuclear inclusions are identified.
