2B1 Lymphoma, B cell (Case 1 -5 years later) area A H&E 20X
2B1,2 - Hematoxylin and eosin stained sections of the “superficial parietal mass” show hypercellular brain parenchyma infiltrated by a monomorphic population of noncohesive large cells with a high nuclear to cytoplasmic ratio, pleomorphic nuclei, and a brisk mitotic rate, overall consistent with a high-grade lymphoma. The atypical infiltrating cells form a dense solid pattern in some areas and have prominent angiocentric patterns but mostly perivascular not intravascular. A background population of lymphocytes are noted, which are notably smaller than the atypical cells. (H&E)
