11B1,2 Sections of the right thalamus (11B1), right caudate and right cerebellar lesions show primary, non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphoma. In both sites the lesion consists of multifocal areas of necrosis with intervening sheets of large neoplastic lymphoid cells. The cells are moderately pleomorphic and contain large folded nuclei and frequent mitoses. In less severely involved regions the cells are arranged in perivascular cuffs. Non-neoplastic lymphocytes as well as reactive astrocytes are admixed with the neoplastic lymphoid cells.
