12B1 DLBCL EBER (Case 12) H&E 3
12B1,2 Hematoxylin and eosin stained sections show large areas of necrosis and patchy viable areas of a malignant neoplasm. The tumor cells are arranged in solid sheets and are composed of a population of non-cohesive large cells containing scant cytoplasm, pleomorphic nuclei, prominent nucleoli, and a brisk mitotic activity. There are prominent angiocentric collections of these neoplastic cells, which is especially notable in tissue fragments that are otherwise necrotic.
