Routine histology shows a highly cellular tumor involving the brain parenchyma, often with an angiotropic growth pattern. The neoplastic cells are large with moderate amount of pale eosinophilic cytoplasm, round to oval nuclei with variable chromatin pattern, some containing nucleoli. Large numbers of apoptotic bodies and frequent mitoses are noted. (H&E)
