5A1,2 Coronal sections of the cerebral hemispheres reveals a large mass in the left subcortical white matter extending into the left basal ganglia. The mass is well circumscribed and is firm and white with small areas of hemorrhage. Focally the surrounding white matter is dark brown gray and gelatinous.
