Elsewhere the surrounding brain parenchyma is yellowish in color. The entire white matter of the left cerebral hemisphere appears expanded and edematous. There is a smaller (1.5 X 1.2 X l cm) well circumscribed mass of similar appearance to the first, located near the midline in the left parietal cortex.
