Sections show an atypical infiltrate of variably sized discohesive cells morphologically consistent with lymphocytes that are centered around vessels and radiate into the surrounding tumor parenchyma. The chromatin stains darkly with hematoxylin and nucleoli are mostly inconspicuous. There are frequent mitoses.
