Case 23 History ---- This patient is a 70 year-old man with history of dementia and ataxia for several months. MRI showed bilateral enhancing lesions in basal ganglia and cerebellum. Clinical diagnosis: lymphoma or CJD. Operative procedure: craniotomy with biopsy. ---- 23A Sections show a perivascular and parenchymal infiltrate of atypical, large, monotonous lymphoid cells that have oval to round vesicular nuclei with open chromatin and prominent nucleoli. Mitotic figures are frequent.
