27A1 Lymphoma (Case 27) 2
27A1-3 Coronal sections of the brain demonstrate a diffusely infiltratively neoplasm involving predominantly the left frontal lobe, particularly its most anterior extent near the frontal pole. The lesion shows a diffuse expansion of the white matter and infiltration with obscuration of the gray/white junction. More posteriorly at the level of the optic chiasm the tumor assumes a variegated appearance with areas of hemorrhage and necrosis, gelatinous consistency and multiple cystic areas. The tumor also extends diffusely involving the pons.
