6B1-4 The neoplasm is impressively infiltrative as shown in these sections of basal ganglia and thalamus. The tumor is arranged in dense sheets of neoplastic cells that invade and replace the neural parenchyma. Perivascular cuffs of tumor are also present. Many sections of brain show leptomeningeal tumor infiltrate. The infiltrate is composed of large, pleomorphic cells with frequent mitotic figures. The tumor classification was a B-cell derived immunoblastic lymphoma.
