Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (HEMATOLYMPHOID) | Lymphoma, secondary | 11A0 Case 11 History
Case 11 History ---- The patient is a 62-year-old, left-handed woman with longstanding history of rheumatoid arthritis, treated with low dose prednisone, methotrexate, and adalimumab. She presented with pain and numbness in the left side of her face. MRI studies in 07/2015 and 08/2015 show an extra-axial, dural based enhancing mass with associated left temporal lobe edema. The mass is centered around the left sphenoid wing, and also involves the left temporal fossa, left orbit, cavernous sinus, and extends through the skull base along the foramen ovale. The underlying bone shows sclerosis and hyperostosis. The radiological differential diagnosis included meningioma, lymphoma or inflammatory sarcoidosis. Operative procedure: Left frontal temporal orbital zygomatic craniotomy. ----
11A1,2 The mass is shown hyperintense in a T1-weighted with contrast scan (arrow, 11A1) and T2-weighted contrast scan (11A2).
