12B2-5 The leptomeninges covering the cerebellar folia show extensive accumulation of an atypical lymphoid infiltrate composed predominantly of large lymphoid cells with a moderate amount of cytoplasm and oval to enlarged irregular-shaped nuclei, sometimes with prominent nucleoli, intermixed with small mature round lymphocytes. This process is seen to extend down Virchow-Robin spaces and focally infiltrate into the underlying cerebellar parenchyma, in some areas being associated with tissue destruction with accumulation of foamy histiocytes, reactive astrocytes, and axonal spheroids.
