This section of the cerebellum and superior brainstem shows the fourth ventricle and adjacent tissue which appears compressed by the expanded periventricular tissue which is soft and discolored, suspicious for tumor infiltration and/or necrosis. The abnormal areas include vermis, bilateral dentate nuclei and adjacent white matter. Sections of the vermis and periventricular tissue and deep nuclei of the cerebellum show extensive infiltration of the neoplasm into both leptomeninges, perivascular tissue and parenchyma. (H&E)
