Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 49 year old woman with a pituitary mass. Clinical diagnosis: Pituitary adenoma. Operative procedure: Transsphenoidal excision. ---- 2A1 An intraoperative smear from the suprasellar mass show a neoplasm composed of bland appearing tumor cells with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm, vesicular nuclei with fine granular chromatin and indistinct nucleoli. The tumor cells show modest nuclear pleomorphism.
