Case 8 History ---- The patient was a 72 year old woman who presented with numbness and paresthesias of both upper extremities. Imaging studies revealed a heterogeneously enhancing dural-based mass extending from the foramen magnum to the T12 level of the spinal cord. ---- 8A1-3 Sections demonstrate a cellular mixed infiltrate involving dense collagenous tissue. In some areas, there is a vaguely nodular architecture. The infiltrate consists of a mixture of lymphocytes, plasma cells, and large foamy histiocytic cells. In some areas, lymphocytes and plasma cells with Russell bodies are seen overlying the larger histiocytic elements in a manner suggestive of emperipolesis.
