Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (MENINGIOMA) | Angiomatous | 4B1 Meningioma, angiomatous (Case 4) H&E 10X
4B1-3 This is a meningothelial neoplasm. The tumor cells have ovoid nuclei, inconspicuous nucleoli, occasional intranuclear clearing and pseudoinclusions, and moderate amounts of eosinophilic cytoplasm. Most of the tumor cells have indistinct cell borders and are arranged in whorls and fascicles. Mitotic figures are rare. In many areas hyalinized vasculature is prominent giving the tumor an angiomatous appearance. Atypical features, e.g. sheeting architecture, small cell change, macronucleoli, spontaneous necrosis, and hypercellularity, are not appreciated.
