Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (MENINGIOMA) | Chordoid | 14B1 Meningioma, chordoid (Case 14) H&E 16
14B1-4 Sections show a meningothelial neoplasm which almost entirely consists of spindled to epithelioid shaped cells growing as cord-like structures in a myxoid background. In small areas, whorl formation is noted. The neoplastic cells have deeply eosinophilic cytoplasm, ill-defined cytoplasmic borders, round to ovoid nuclei with partially cleared chromatin and scattered intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions. Mitotic activity is rare.
