1B2 Meningioma, anaplastic, chordoid (Case 1) H&E 4.jpg
Minimal whorled architecture is present and most areas take on a chordoid arrangement. Areas of hypercellularity and necrosis are seen. Tumor cells have large, highly pleomorphic nuclei with prominent nucleoli. The extracellular matrix has a chordoid appearance, with occasional cells showing vacuolated cytoplasm. The mitotic rate is high with up to 31 mitoses/10HPF.
