Areas of brain invasion are highlighted by GFAP immunohistochemistry. (GFAP IHC) ---- The morphology, immunophenotype, and finding of elevated mitotic rate of more than 20/HPF are diagnostic of an anaplastic meningioma (WHO grade 3). Given the history of anaplastic meningioma s/p multiple resections this is best classified as residual/recurrent.
