Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (MENINGIOMA) | Meningioma - Clear cell | 2B2 Meningioma, clear cell (Case 2) H&E 3
2B2-6 Sections show a tumor consisting of polygonal cells with variable degrees of cytoplasmic clearing that range from small perinuclear vacuoles to entirely cleared cytoplasm. The tumor cell nuclei are round to oval with stippled chromatin. In some areas, the solid regions have a nested appearance. Psammoma bodies are exceedingly rare. There is no evidence of spontaneous necrosis, brain invasion or small cell change. Macronucleoli are seen. Mitotic activity is brisk with up to 5/10HPF.
