Case 19 History ---- The patient was a 70 year old man with history of congestive heart failure (ejection fraction < 20%), coronary artery disease, hypertension, and left facial droop secondary to right temporal meningioma who was found unresponsive at home. Upon EMS arrival, he was noted to be in pulseless electrical activity and was unsuccessfully stabilized in the field. He was brought to BJC where a 45 minute attempt at resuscitation failed. ---- The inferior surface of the brain shows a defect in the right temporal lobe. Sections of the temporal lobe on the right side show a 5.5 X 4.8 X 4 cm area of softening (adjacent to the dural based tumor), including the right hippocampus.
