Case 39 History ---- At age 86 this woman was seen for memory deficits and difficulties of activities of daily living. Head MRI revealed cerebral atrophy, left basal ganglia and bilateral cerebellar hemispheric lacunar infarcts as well as a 2 cm right tentorial meningioma without mass effect. There was a family history of late life dementia. After a long course of progressive dementia the patient passed away. ---- At autopsy the weight of the unfixed brain was 1040 grams and had the typical pathology of Alzheimer disease. ---- 39A1,2 A rubbery meningeal tumor, 2.0 X 0.4 X 0.5 cm was identified overlying and compressing but not invading the inferior right occipital cortex.
