Case 44 History ---- This 48 year old man had a dissecting aneurysm of the aorta, extending from the aortic valve ring to the aortic origin of the renal arteries. His early symptoms of shock and loss of lower extremity pulses led to a tentative diagnosis of saddle embolus, and surgical exploration was performed revealing the dissection. The patient died shortly thereafter. ---- 44A The image of a meningioma with displacement of the underlying brain was found incidentally at autopsy.
