53C1 Meningioma, intraventricular (Case 53) H&E 3
53C1,2 This is a cellular tumor arranged in whorls and fascicles that are frequently interspersed with thick collagen. There are sheets of tumor cells as well as spontaneous necrosis in some areas. The tumor cells are spindled with nuclei that are oval to elongate. Hypercellularity, small cell change, and macronucleoli are not identified. The chromatin is finely speckled and most nucleoli are inconspicuous. The mitotic index is variable but <2/10HPF. The tumor is a WHO Grade I meningioma.
