6F Meningioma, microcystic (Case 6) Inhibin 2
In order not to miss a hemangioblastoma, an inhibin stain was performed and was negative. ---- Ancillary studies (not shown): GFAP highlights brain parenchyma without evidence of invasion. Ki-67 (MIB-1 antibody) reveals a proliferation index of approximately 12%. PAS stain highlights occasional eosinophilic globules and scattered cytoplasmic granules that are sensitive to diastase. ---- The histopathological and immunohistochemical features are most consistent with a diagnosis of atypical meningioma with microcystic and angiomatous differentiation, WHO grade 2.
