At times the constituent papillary appearance may appear lost. ----FISH analyses show the tumor to be positive for deletions of 1p and 14q (both of which are characteristic of atypical meningioma), but negative for deletion of the CDKN2A/9p21 locus (which is associated with anaplasia and aggressive clinical course).
