7A1 Meningioma, Psammomatous (Case 7) 2
Case 7 History ---- The patient is a 67 year old woman with a calcified dura-based mass in the thoracic spinal cord. Operative procedure: Thoracic laminectomy and tumor resection. ---- 7A1,2 This is a low grade tumor predominantly composed of calcified psammoma bodies with intervening small clusters or whorls of neoplastic meningothelial cells with oval nuclei, nuclear pseudoinclusions and syncytial cytoplasm. These findings are consistent with a meningioma, psammomatous variant, WHO grade 1.
