22A1 (Case 22) H&E 20X 1
Case 22 History ---- The patient was a 69 year old man with a right lateral intraventricular contrast enhancing lesion measuring 5.6 x 6.1 cm. ---- 22A1-4 The H&E shows areas with spindled to epithelioid architecture with focal calcifications and rare whorl formation. A large portion of this neoplasm is sheeted with increased cellularity, and there are focal areas that are rhabdoid in appearance. Areas of frank anaplasia are also seen with both carcinoma-like and sarcoma-like cytologic features. There is also a focus of chondromyxoid metaplasia (not shown). The cytology is significant for prominent eosinophilic nucleoli.
