14A2 Meningioma, secretory (Case 14) H&E 4.jpg
Hematoxylin and eosin stained sections of this meningothelial neoplasm shows it is solid with lobules, nests, and whorls. There are abundant, round extracellular lumina containing eosinophilic proteinaceous secretions. The tumor cells are syncytial with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. The tumor nuclei are round to oval, have finely stippled chromatin, and a subset contain pseudoinclusions or clearing of the chromatin. Mitotic figures are not readily identified. Atypical features are not appreciated.
