Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (MENINGIOMA) | Secretory | 9B4 Meningioma, secretory, hyperostosis (Case 9) H&E 2.jpg
9B4-6 Sections of the resected dural-based neoplasm show a meningothelial tumor with cells arranged in nests and small whorls separated by fibrous divisions. Concentric, lamellated, eosinophilic inclusions (pseudopsammoma bodies) appear at the center of many whorls. Neoplastic cells show occasional intranuclear pseudoinclusions, nuclear holes, and longitudinal nuclear grooves. There is no significant mitotic activity and there are no subjective criteria of atypia. Brain invasion is absent.
