Case 10 History ---- The patient was a 65 year old woman who presented with visual impairment. Brain MRI showed a small intrasellar mass extending posteriorly into the pre-pontine cistern. The lesion was partially resected followed by transnasal re-resection at an OSH. She subsequently underwent radiation therapy and had difficulty with radiation necrosis. The consult material consists of slides from her original March and August resections. ---- 10A1,2 H&E shows tumor cells characterized by nests and cords of monotonous cells within an extensively myxoid/mucinous background. Individual tumor cells have abundant eosinophilic to vacuolated cytoplasm and small, bland, round nuclei with finely granular chromatin. Mitotic figures are very hard to find.
