2B1-3 The tumor has a multilobulated architecture, invading bone and soft tissue. Within the lobules, the tumor cells are arranged in sheets and cords with variably abundant basophilic extracellular mucin. Individual tumor cells are epithelioid, with abundant pale eosinophilic cytoplasm, a modest number of dark eosinophilic cytoplasmic granules, distinct intensely-eosinophilic cell borders, round to oval nuclei, open coarse chromatin, and one or two eosinophilic nucleoli of variable size. Most cells exhibit one or more clear vacuoles that, when numerous, impart a "physaliphorous" appearance. Mitotic figures are rare.
