16B1 Hemangioblastoma (Case 16) H&E 11
16B1-5 Sections show a highly vascular cellular tumor with stromal cells which, in some areas, contain multiple or solitary vacuoles. Numerous thin walled vessels are present throughout the specimen forming a dense network. The tumor cells have small round to ovoid nuclei with homogeneous chromatin staining and inconspicuous nucleoli. Occasional forms are hyperchromatic. Frequent patches of extramedullary hematopoiesis/erythropoiesis are noted.
