23A1 Hemangioblastoma (Case 23) H&E 2
Case 23 History ---- The patient is a 51-year-old woman with a history of right cerebellar tumor, status post cyber-knife surgery and recent hemorrhage. Operative procedure: Resection. ---- 23A1,2 This is a highly vascular tumor with numerous small capillary sized vessels. The intervening stromal (tumor) cells are foamy to eosinophilic with indistinct cytoplasmic membranes and contain vesicular ovoid nuclei to markedly irregular hyperchromatic nuclei. There is significant degenerative atypia in the tumor cells; however, mitotic figures are difficult to find and there is no evidence of necrosis.
