Case 15 History ---- The patient is a 46 year old man with a brain tumor. Clinical diagnosis: Metastatic tumor. Operative procedure: Resection. ---- 15A Sections show a metastatic carcinoma consistent with a renal primary. The neoplasm is composed of sheets of neoplastic cells with clear cytoplasm and nuclei with mildly atypical features. They focally form acinar structures. Admixed capillaries and vessels of various sizes are also present, as well as focal lymphocytic infiltrate. Foci of hemorrhage and hemosiderin pigment deposition are also identified.
