Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (MESENCHYMAL, NON-MENINGOTHELIAL) | Solitary Fibrous Tumor (SFT) | 15A2 Hemangiopericytoma, Gr III (Case 15) H&E 2
Sections of the "recurrent hemangiopericytoma" show a cellular neoplasm composed of cells with uniform, round to ovoid, hyperchromatic nuclei and scant cytoplasm, arranged in nests separated by fibrous septae and elongated vessels. The vessels show some branching and are staghorn in appearance. Mitoses are easily identified with 14/10HPF. The current specimen was compared to the prior material resected in 2006 and in 2004 and shows similar features.
