8B1-4 This is a highly cellular tumor composed of cells with oval to cigar-shaped nuclei arranged in a haphazard configuration forming a sheet. In many areas, the tumor cells are interrupted by stroma that is somewhat collagenous. Numerous angular-appearing staghorn vascular spaces are present throughout the specimen. The cytoplasm of most of the cells is indistinct from its neighbors, but some have small vacuoles or even rudimentary lumina. Tumor cell nuclei have a vesicular coarsely stippled chromatin pattern. The nucleoli are inconspicuous. Very few mitoses are identified. Necrosis is not encountered.
